Hey everyone, I’m Kate McDonough! The founder of katexhair and Knox Blowout + Extension Bar who is a cosmetologist, extension and color specialist, and most importantly, a woman of faith who believes beauty is more than what we see on the outside.

This journey has been anything but easy — filled with
unexpected detours, hard decisions, and moments where
all I could do was trust God and take the next step. But
every challenge has led me here, and I truly believe He’s
been guiding every part of this vision.

I was raised by a strong, hardworking single mother who
taught me the value of grit, grace, and going after your
dreams, even when it feels impossible. I never imagined I
could make a living doing something I love this deeply. But
with prayer, faith, and a whole lot of perseverance, I’m now
creating the kind of space I always dreamed of… One that
celebrates women, their beauty, their stories, and their
strength.

At Knox Blowout + Extension Bar, we don’t just do hair, we pour into women. This is a place of restoration,
confidence, and connection. Every guest is more than just a
client, you’re family here. Whether you’ll coming in for a
quick refresh or a full transformation, my hope is that you
leave feeling not just beautiful, but uplifted, seen, and
reminded of who you are.

I’ve built this business with purpose and prayer, and it’s
